With a wall choc-full of wonderful awards, reviews and accolades, Fergus O’Halloran is going to have some difficulty finding a place to showcase the most recent two awards won by The Twelve Hotel at the National Hospitality Awards 2013, which took place on Monday 21st October.
Earlier this year, The Twelve Hotel were the only hotel in Ireland to be awarded the prestigious Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and for a sixth year running for them, so it’s no surprise that they took the overall award for ‘Best Wine Experience’ in Ireland at the National Hospitality Awards on Monday last. "It is no surprise to us that The Twelve have been singled out for international praise. This excellent wine list shows the huge knowledge, passion and dedication of Fergus O’Halloran, and his team. Congratulations to The Twelve”, said Emily Hourican, head judge of the awards and editor of Hospitality Ireland magazine.
From silent disco wine tastings to jazz-accompanied wine dinners, hand-picked and personally imported Italian boutique wines to the most enthusiastic red-headed sommelier in the country, wine isn’t just for drinking at The Twelve – it’s an all-consuming passion!
The Twelve also scooped an award for ‘Best Boutique Hotel’ in Ireland at the awards, alongside The Wineport Hotel in Athlone who were the overall winners. The Twelve have been consistently successful at the National Hospitality Awards and other industry awards each year since they opened, showing that there’s no fear of any slipping standards in the hotel – the quality just gets better and better, even with increased competition!
